Tasting Note

Colour: Deep, ruby-purple colour, lighter on the rim.

Bouquet: Aromas of fennel seed, mocha, cedar and spice and even some white pepper

The bouquet is full and harmonious with aromas of black cheery and plum, mocha and licorice. Full-bodied with unfolding notes of dark chocolate and hints of spice.

Palate: The palate has vibrancy and lightness with red fruit flavours backed by a lively acidity. Fine-grained ripe tannins add weight and texture. A classic Barossa Shiraz.

Winemaker’s notes

Fruit is picked from our own Biscay Road vineyard in the heart of the Barossa Valley. Once in the winery every care was taken during ferment in open top fermenters to give the wine maximum time on skins to extract the depth of flavour and colour that this wine exhibits. The wine is aged in new and seasoned American oak until bottling. It is ready to drink now and will also continue to reward the patient for the next 8 – 10 years.

Serving hints

Serve at room temperature and match with kangaroo stew, grilled lamb or Mediterranean fare.
